The place command essentially means go to a designated spot and stay there until released with a release word. If used correctly it can assist your dog in becoming a calmer more relaxed pup overall.

The place command can be used for a multitude of things including teaching your dog to self soothe, making the introduction of new people in the home easier and less arousing, allowing your dog to have structured down time, and if need be getting them out of your space.

Short answer all dogs could get something out of learning place but its the most beneficial for hyper or easily arroused dogs.
